Pharrell Williams To Donate 50,000 Books To Young Readers

On top of giving back amazing music to his longtime fans and supporters, Pharrell Williams is giving back in other ways out of the studio.

The superstar producer is partnering with Young Penguin Readers publishing company, where he will be donating 50,000 books to young readers.

The company and Pharrell are also doing a partnership with non-profit literacy organization, FirstBook, where they will be sure the books go into the hands of children in under-served low-income communities.

Releasing a statement, Pharrell wrote, “Every child on this planet deserves to experience the joy of reading.”

Readers who participate will be able to take to social media to use the hashtag #readhappy, where they can share why reading brings them joy, with a donation being made from each post.

Williams is also going to be creating his own set of picture books based on his smash hit single, “Happy,” with the first one in the series being released next week.

We can’t wait to see the new book, and all of the youth participating in the campaign.
