Kendrick Lamar Brought Compton High School Students To the Grammys
There’s no hiding the fact that Kendrick is all about being a positive influence on the youth. That’s why the once struggling Compton rapper made it his duty to help them experience the grandiosity of the Grammys.
Walking away with some statues was most likely on the top of K Dot’s list, but that didn’t distract him from doing his part in the community. He gathered a couple students from his old high school, Centennial High School, to not only spend the day with him but also go to the actual ceremony. The night was capped off when the rapper gave the students their own pair of Reebok Classics thanks to his collaboration with the sneaker company.
He explained in the Reebok film documenting the journey, this comes from the goodness of his heart in hopes that, “In the next 10 years from now, hopefully they’ll be further than where I’m at. It’s a beautiful thing.”
