While Flint residents are suffering from a water contamination, Cher came to the rescue in their time of need.
Since 2014, a metal contamination of the Flint River started a crisis in the water produced for the city. According The Associated Press, the iconic singer took control of the situation and decided to donate bottles of water to the Michigan natives. She pulled strings with Brad Horwitz, an investor in the water company Icelandic Glacial and friend of her’s, to help find contributors to the cause.
Cher explained to the publishers:
“This is a tragedy of staggering proportion and shocking that it’s happening in the middle of our country.”
Over 180,000 bottles are expected to hit the city by Monday.
