Black History Month Appreciation (Day 22): Jeff Johnson
You may have recently seen him sitting opposite of Democratic Presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton in an interview, but the influence, support and voice of Jeff Johnson has been a fixture in the black community for years. That’s why we’re honoring him for Day 22 of #LiveCivilBHM.
The work of Jeff made him a fixture on BET where he offered political information to the Rap City audience and went on to host The Jeff Johnson Chronicles before moving on to his own weekly news show The Truth with Jeff Johnson.
Exceptional on television Johnson is also brilliant with his pen, appearing in publications like CNN and the Root, and still contributing to sources like MSNBC, Fox News, The Rickey Smiley Morning show, where he contributes his popular “3 Things You Need to Know,” along with the earlier mentioned outlets and more.
Beyond his journalistic efforts, Johnson speaks anywhere from local communities to colleges and provided his services to assist groups like the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) and the Hip-Hop Summit. If you are a man and wish to hear Jeff’s voice beyond the mentioned efforts you are also able to join him for empowerment with his morning Manhood Legacy Prayer, which you can find out more information about through his Twitter.
Congrats on all of your achievement and leadership, we are looking forward to more. Happy Black History Month Jeff Johnson.
