Amazon Will Hire 100 Executive Level Positions In Detroit With $150K Starting Yearly Salaries
America’s largest E-Commerce company and computing giant, Amazon, made an announcement on Tuesday that it plans to hire 100 more white-collar and tech jobs in Detroit within the next two years. While many companies are making remote work the new normal, Amazon is expanding its offices in six US cities.
Jobs will be located in downtown Detroit in the 150 West Jefferson office tower and pay an average $150,000 in yearly compensation. Additional employees will join the already existing 400 employees who are still located inside the building. In order to accommodate the additional workers, Amazon says it intends to expand the office at 150 West Jefferson by 25,000 square feet.

The expansion follows Amazon’s nationwide “Tech Hub” initiative in six cities that will fill 3,500 new tech and corporate positions. “We are proud to see our vibrant tech workforce continue to grow and thrive,” says Mayor Mike Duggan. According to local officials and an Amazon representative, Amazon is not looking for any tax breaks or development incentives for the downtown office expansion.
The remaining five cities hiring for the Tech Hub initiative include Dallas, Denver, New York, Phoenix and San Diego, hiring in areas of operations, finance, retail, marketing and its AWS cloud-computing subsidiary.
