5 Ways To Stay Centered And Grounded This Holiday
The holidays can bring up a myriad of emotions that can leave you feeling off. Some days are filled with excitement and joy, while others can be riddled with sadness and anxiety. Couple that with an entire global pandemic things can feel heavier than usual as you try to navigate this time of year. It’s more important than ever to have some extra help in your Spiritual Toolkit to help keep you grounded and centered. Here are 5 simple things you can try:
Meditation

Meditation can seem intimidating but, it doesn’t have to be. You don’t have to sit up with your legs crossed if you don’t want to, you can lay in bed and meditate first thing in the morning if you’d like. The point isn’t to not think about anything but, rather stabilize your breathing and calm your mind as you focus on one thing.
Try a 5 minute guided meditation to start and end your day. There is a guided meditation for everything you need from inner peace, to attracting abundance, keeping anxiety at bay – whatever you need, Guided Meditations are perfect because listening to the voice and instructions keep your mind from trailing off. Even if you find yourself distracted, forgive yourself and try again. You don’t have to be perfect, it will get easier the more you practice.
Crystals
Crystals are fantastic for emotional stability and healing. You can discreetly carry them with you, place them around your home, sleep with them under your pillow, or wear them as jewelry. There are crystals for every need you have. For example, Rose Quartz is great for calling in Self Love, Amethyst aids in keeping negative thoughts away and Black Tourmaline is great for protection. Crystals for Beginners: The Guide to Get Started with the Healing Power of Crystals is a great place to start if you’re looking to do some research on beginning your collection. You could even visit your local crystal shop and see which you feel most drawn to.
Affirmations
Affirmations are positive phrases that you repeat over a period of time to shape high-frequency feelings within yourself. Our lives are a manifestation of our beliefs and our beliefs are just things that we’ve heard so many times that we begin to embody them. Why not bombard your mind with positive affirmations about yourself, your life, and your future? Borrow a few of my favorites that I learned through Florence Scovel Shinn’s teachings:
“Endless good comes to be in endless ways”
“I now release the gold-mine within me. I am linked with an endless golden stream of prosperity which comes to me under grace in perfect ways”
“I give thanks for the millions which are mine by Divine Right, now pour in and pile up under grace in perfect ways”
“I do not limit God by seeing limitation in myself. With God and myself, all things are possible”
“All obstacles vanish from my pathway. Doors fly open, gates are lifted and I enter the Kingdom of fulfillment, under grace”
