Like many girls her age Lauren Laray loves doing hair during her play time. She even takes her talents a little further and creates tutorials of her artistic skills. What’s most impressive is Laray’s decision to use her talents to create wigs for children who are suffering from Cancer.
In a recent interview with News 3 Las Vegas the eight-year-old shared that she creates wigs for young girls who lost their hair due to cancer treatments.
“My best friend’s little sister has cancer and I just felt bad for her,” she expressed.
So she got to work. Leray makes crochet wigs in an effort to make the pieces look as natural as possible. She uses a crochet hook, a net, and some natural sotre bought hair.
“Some of them will be blonde; some of them will be redheaded for redheaded little girls. I’ll have a whole bunch because other girls have other styles for their hair,” she explained.
The wigs will be donated to the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation.
To help with keeping her mission going, Leray started a GoFundMe Page to raise funds for her initiative.
Although she has already surpassed her goal, there’s never too much support. Feel free to help out anyway you possibly can. Also, head over to her GoFundMe page and watch her tutorial that explains how she makes the wigs.
