It’s no secret the devotion that Lady Gaga’s fan’s, the Little Monster’s, have for her. So hearing of a book composed entirely by them comes of little surprise. Earlier this year, when Gaga suffered a serious hip injury she was forced to cancel the remaining dates of the concert tour she was currently on. In a huge show of love and support, on the date of what was to be the New York “Born This Way Ball” at Madison Square Garden, numbers of her largest supporters still gathered at the concert site to let her know how much they cared. What came of that moment started out as a small project to be made expressly for Lady Gaga, but transformed into a much bigger and more powerful message that couldn’t go without being shared.
“Heal This Way: A Love Story” is a compilation where the biggest, most vocal Little Monsters share their raw emotions about coming out, bullying, thoughts of suicide, and the need for acceptance. An intimate look into the relationship between Gaga and her Little Monsters, HEAL THIS WAY is in itself pop art. Quotes and letters are accompanied by stunning Little Monster portraits. The book will showcase 107 Little Monsters from 10 different countries in 122 pages of full color. Tour photographer, Tracey B. Wilson profoundly captures the overwhelmingly brave, fierce, and vulnerable moments of Lady Gaga’s most devoted followers. Having the most prolific group of social media followers in history, Gaga’s Little Monster community is over 40 million strong on Twitter alone.
The book’s NYC launch (November 12th 2013), will be a fundraising event benefiting The Trevor Project. In keeping with the spirit of HEAL THIS WAY the event will raise money for LGBT youth on an anti-bullying platform.
