UCLA alum, Russell Westbrook, made school history for making the largest financial donation by any former basketball student-athlete last week.
The Thunder point guard gave the undisclosed sum in support for the Mo Ostin Basketball Center project, which will help provide UCLA basketball student athletes with a state-of-the-art facility.
The university rewarded Westbrook for his act of kindness by naming the practice court in the new center in his honor, the Russell Westbrook Court. UCLA plans to further honor Westbrook during its game against the Arizona Wildcats the night before the Thunder plays in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
Westbrook believes through his donations and initiatives like his elementary reading rooms, he will play his part in helping inner-city children build a successful future.
