Trayvon Martin’s Parents To Be Honored At VH1’s 2018 Trailblazer Honors

Since the 2012 tragic death of Trayvon Martin, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin have done a phenomenal job at bringing awareness to and speaking out against gun violence, racial profiling, and social injustices, which all contributed to their young son’s untimely death. Because of their hard work and dedication to the cause, it has been reported that VH1 will honor the pair at the 2018 Trailblazer Honors.

In 2012, Sybrina and Tracey founded the Trayvon Martin Foundation to provide advocacy for families who were victims of violent crimes and bring awareness to gun reform laws and social injustice. Last year, they also released a book in honor of their son called Rest in Power: The Enduring Life of Trayvon Martin, which tells the story of not only how their lives changed following the murder of Trayvon, but how it later led to the rise of the powerful, influential, and monumental Black Lives Matter movement.

The Trailblazer Honors airs June 29th, 2018 at 9:30 pm EST/PST on VH1 and LOGO.
