The presidential election is heating up. With political powerhouse Hillary Clinton near the top of the list, she has reason to be even more excited today. Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton has announced that she will be endorsing Clinton in this race, as she thinks she’s the right candidate to attack the issue on gun violence.
“With so many of our children’s lives on the line or taken, we simply can’t afford to elect a Republican who refuses to even acknowledge the problem of senseless gun violence. The rising generation of our young people need a President who will stand up to inaction from Republicans and indifference from the NRA,” Fulton states. “I believe that person is Hillary Clinton.”
For those who don’t remember, Trayvon Martin was the 17-year old kid who was gunned down by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch wannabe, who thought Trayvon was causing trouble. Trayvon was unarmed during the incident and following his death, Zimmerman was not charged with any crimes, causing a huge uproar in several communities around the world.
Trayvon’s legacy will always live on, and we’re thankful for his mother and the rest of his family for continuing to fight.
