When your mind and body are both into the workout you will have much better results. Isn’t that why you go to the gym? To have a good workout? How many times have you gone to the gym and done what you went to do but not oncefeel out of breath, sweat dripping down your face or completely exhausted. Sure, we all have those days when we just aren’t feeling it. However, your time in the gym should be well spent and not wasted.
Try these tricks for a perfect workout:
No phones allowed: Keep it locked away in your locker. With twitter, instagram, facebook and text messages it becomes more of a distraction than a workout aid. Adopt a no phone rule while working out and bring a stop watch and a separate ipod for your music.
Bring a water bottle: Bring your own water bottle so you can focus on your program and be in the moment. If you have to keep running to a fountain every time that you need to rehydrate it becomes a distraction. If you are constantly traveling to the fountain sometimes you take more rest than you should so keep that bottle close by.
Book your workout in your schedule: Always schedule in your workout into your daily planner. Humans are creatures of habit and when you schedule an appointment you are more likely to stick to it. Also plan out your rest periods for your workout so no time is wasted.
Think positive: Even if you don’t feel like working out, your sore or you are sleepy know that a workout will make you feel better physically and mentally. So pull yourself up from your chair and change your attitude. How you feel is a choice.
Next time you hit the gym, grab a watch, water bottle, and ditch the phone, think positive, work hard and make that workout count!
