The hilarious Quinta Brunson is set to co-star in pilot It’s The End of the World as We Know It on The CW. She will be working alongside Gage Golightly. The show will be based on the book by Iva-Marie Palner and is from Rob Thomas and Warner Bros TV.

We are all aware of the beauty industry is super late in acknowledging and recognizing women of color but thankfully times are changing. Fenty launched with a variety of products that cater to women of darker skin and now the game has been changed for eternity.
By the looks of it, major companies are getting it together and hopping on board. Nyma Tang who is a beauty vlogger who has been advocating for this change is apart of this movement. The blogger announced via Instagram that she will be creating her own custom lipstick shade with M.A.C Cosmetics.
“I created my dream red lipstick and I can’t wait to share it with you guys,” Tang wrote in an Instagram post.
Tang launched a new YouTube series called “The Darkest Shade” in 2017. This series involves Tang taking the darkest color of foundations and cancelers and matching it to her own complexion to see if it is a good for her skin tone. Her channel challenges beauty standards and brands and showcases the truth about what is available for women of darker skin tone. We’re looking forward to this lipstick drop.
Continue being an inspiration to beautiful black girls Tang!

It’s the holiday season, so that means another sweet Curry family moment and recipe
With baby Ryan and big sister Riley in the pic, Steph and Ayesha grabbed the dog to mark a first in Curry family photo history captioning it,
“First time getting both babies and the dog in one photo!”

The world’s biggest recording companies have been stripped of two billion YouTube hits after the website cracked down on alleged ‘fake viewers’.
Universal, home of Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Justin Bieber, lost a total of one billion views in the video site’s biggest ever crackdown on artificially inflated figures.
Sony was second hardest hit, with the label behind such stars as Alicia Keys, Rita Ora and Labrinth losing more than 850million views in a single day.
The unprecedented move left Universal with just five videos on the site – none of which were music – and Sony with just three.
‘This was not a bug or a security breach. This was an enforcement of our viewcount policy,’ YouTube announced.
It marks a huge blow to all the artists involved as YouTube is now the web’s most important outlet for music videos
Over four billion hours of video are watched by over 800million unique visitors to the site each month.
The dramatic falls, highlighted by figures compiled byYouTube statistics analysts at SocialBlade, came after YouTube conducted an audit of its viewing figures aimed at combating black hat view count-building techniques.
This is when hackers artificially build up the numbers of views or likes on a YouTube video – enabling them to make clips appear far more popular than they really are and increase their exposure on the site.
The number of views attracted on YouTube are these days regarded as an unofficial worldwide popular music chart, and any suggestion that major labels are engaging in underhand tactics to increase their numbers could threaten the credibility of their artists.
YouTube viewer figures are doubly valuable to channel owners since it is also the primary way in which the site works out how to share its advertising revenue with partners.
While the revolution on television has yet to be realized (but is supposedly still in the works), Pharrell Williams has taken to the most promising platform of them all — the internet. Instead of jumping straight to your TV screen, he decided to hit you where you sit the most. And recruited a few of the best who do it, to further the project along.
‘iAmOther,’ by definition, is a network. Incorporating all forms of art, it provides a place for creative minds to not only dwell, but to prosper.
Awkward Black Girl
The first major announcement from this network is the coalition with Issa Rae‘s Shorty-Award winning web-series “The MisAdventures of Awkward Black Girl.” During the first season of this highly anticipated show, it took a few pit-stops and restroom breaks along the way to stardom. Literally progressing from a cell phone camera to more adjustable and user-friendly equipment with the help of supporters through Kickstarter, Awkard Black Girl demonstrated how to break down borders in Hollywood — stock up on the ammunition from your own backyard.
By the season finale, the premiere episode was nearing over 1,000,000 views, and even garnered support from rising actor Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino in the hip-hop world. Before the racist ranting that congratulated her relevance in the screenwriting and directing world, she and (other head writer) Tracy Oliver addressed criticism to alleged LGBT insensitivity.
With both situations handled delicately and with ease, the announcement of the awkward talented crew belonging to iAmOther, naturally, only makes sense. Now with a loyal and dedicated audience, a new family collective, and a continuous growing list of sponsors, all we can hope is that this time around they don’t keep us waiting for the follow-up episodes for too long!
Beginning June 14th
The second obviously fitting iAmOther member is Nardwuar the Human Serviette. The quirky Canadian known for his scarily amazing talent to dig up pieces of anyone’s past, and then have them recall it in detail on camera can sometimes make for a very awkward moment on screen, but classic moment, nonetheless. Usually clad in bright clothes, with a loud hat, the Vancouver radio host has been in effect since 1987. Recently making name for himself in the internet world, especially with hip-hop, the character he portrays is so out-the-box that comparing him to Iggy Pop or “Weird Al” Yankovic is close, but no cigar.
Following his extensive research of the participant, he challenges their own knowledge of themselves. Watching your favorite artist go through a series of mind-f**ks is the best reward from watching any of his interviews. Not to mention, he doesn’t only interview musicians. And, he dabbles in the industry himself, known as a singer and keyboardist for The Evaporators. Of course he fits right in.
Pharrell has chosen to include all realms of artistry. Leah LeBelle, who recently premiered her debut single “Sexify,” is belonging to the iAmOther record label, alongside Jermaine Dupri’s SoSoDef Recordings and L.A. Reid’s Epic Records. Hailing from Canada, she first made a splash in the states on the highly publicized 3rd Season of American Idol, a favorite of Paula Abdul. At the age of 17, she made it to the top 12 before voted off. Now with history as background singer for Keri Hilson, Robin Thicke, Jordin Sparks, Jonas Brothers and Eric Benet, 25-year-old Leah is ready for her own mic stand in the spotlight.
From “Others by Hypebeast” to “Pharrell’s State of The Union” and upcoming web-game show “Stereotypes,” the growth of iAmOther should have the attention of like-minded creatives around the worldwide web. In fact, it appears to be more of an actual fruition of what Kanye West infamously ranted about on Twitter for hours; (DONDA, Which has also been on the steady incline from his clothing label to newly premiered film “Cruel Summer” in Cannes.)
Funny man Kain Carter, also known as “HotDamnIRock” often comes with compelling topics for his anticipated Youtube Channel. From break-ups to bad breath, the end of the world to religion, Carter also seems to take notice of the news and events around the world to comment on. This time, he did-so with the most compelling debate today– Trayvon Martin. In this short, but relevant and tear-jerking skit, Carter presents both sides of the matter within much of the African-American community today. Retaliation versus Justice.
Carter’s video was most likely inspired by the New Black Panther’s $10,000 bounty on the head of Martin’s killer, George Zimmerman. With Trayvon’s parents — Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin — publicly denouncing their approval of the bounty, some are torn about the way to seek the justice we have yet to catch any glimpse of since his death. As pressure begins to build, tempers begin to rise, and anger slowly creeps beyond hurt, all we can hope is that we at least get to see the man arrested within the next few coming days. The outcome of this tragedy ultimately will lay in the hands of the courts or the hands of another killer.
Whose Side Are You On?
Also, Kain Carter chose a great background track for this piece. One of my favorite songs in the world. If you’re familiar with “Set It Off,” you know it too. Listen to the lyrics and think about the video… what do you say is next on the agenda for justice for Trayvon Martin?
