5 Things People Without A Best Friend Want You To Know

By Posted on 61 2 m read

In life, you may meet a few people who will tell you that everybody needs a best friend. You will also meet a person like me, who will tell you that if you don’t have a best friend, you’ll still live!

If I had to be honest, I would say that I’ve been without a B.F.F. since my freshmen year of high school. We were a group of 4, who eventually grew apart and since then, I’ve been holding it down dolo. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve made several close friends since then, who are without a doubt some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met, but none of which I would consider my best friend. If you think I’m swimming in my tears at night over not having a person to call bestie, I can assure you that I’m 100% fine. In fact, I’ve put together a short list, speaking on behalf of my bestie-less peers, of things people without a best friend want you to know!

We’re okay. No, seriously, we’re okay!

There’s nothing funnier than having a conversation about friendships and having someone interject with “awww” after finding out that you’re without a bestie. You would be surprised how many don’t have a best friend and are still living their best life. I promise it’s not as lonely or bad as you think!

It doesn’t mean that we don’t have friends or we’re incapable of making friends.

Being without a best friend doesn’t make you friendless and it also doesn’t mean that you aren’t social and don’t know how to make friends. It just means that there’s not one person over the other that you tell all of your secrets to or spend all of your time with.

It doesn’t mean that we don’t have SOMEONE to confide in.

Fortunately for me, I grew up in a very large close-knit family. My Grandma had 8 kids and 15 grandchildren, so there was never a shortage of listening ears. My cousins and I are also within the same age range and pretty close, so I would say that I have a best friend in all of them.

Our National Best Friend Day post may be our dog, ourselves, or our mom.

This is hilarious, but no one likes to be excluded from national celebratory days on social media!

We’re still trustworthy.

Not having a best friend does not make a person untrustworthy and it doesn’t mean that we’re not good at keeping secrets. After all, if no one’s around, who the hell are we going to tell?

Although they are celebrities, we forget they’re just like us … sometimes. They like going out to eat. They, too, like shopping. They like taking selfies, and above all they love hanging out with their friends and they won’t hesitate to post it on “the gram” for the world to know. Just like us, celebrities have road dogs. You know, that person that’s always down for the cause in every way. It’s always so heartwarming when celebrities bless our timelines with their friendships and we wanted to take same time to acknowledge a couple.

Take a look below at some of the duos that have us screaming #SquadGoals to the top of our lungs.
