Skylar Diggins and GENYOUth will host “Fuel Up, Play and Learn With Skylar Diggins,” an afternoon event of meaningful dialogue and fun activities among South Bend, Indiana leaders, athletes, educators and youth. The event’s goal is to identify solutions to improve child nutrition and fun physical activity in the South Bend schools and the community.
GENYOUth brings leaders in health, education, government and business together to help America’s youth move towards a healthier future. Their flagship program, Fuel Up to Play 60 (FUTP 60), is the largest health and wellness program currently active in 73, 000 schools. FUTP 60 encourages kids to eat healthy and engage in physical activity for at least 60 minutes a day.
“I think that it’s so important, getting the message out for nutrition, as well as fitness,” Diggins said in an interview with Morning Joe back in December. “Sometimes you see programs that focus on one or the other, and this program is focusing on both.”
