2015 will be one to remember for Serena Williams, and to cap off one of the most prolific years in her career thus far, Sports Illustrated has just named Serena as the 2015 Sportsperson of the Year!
With a record of 53-3, three major titles (just one set shy of a Grand Slam), and all done at 34-years old, it’s no surprise why Serena took home this title. Here’s what Serena had to say about the major accomplishment:
This year was spectacular for me. For SportsIllustrated to recognize my hard work, my dedication, and my sheer determination gives me hope to continue on and do better. As I always say, it takes a village it’s not just one person. This is not just an accomplishment for me, but for my whole team. I am beyond honored. I love you guys! 2016? #letsdoit
Congratulations to Serena Williams on a well-deserved, major accomplishment. Read the full story from SI here.
