Quentin Tarantino Preps “Django Unchained” For Christmas Dinner

By Posted on 0 1 m read

Quentin Tarantino has a special gift for us this Christmas with his new film Django Unchained. In this film starring Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and friend of Tarantino, Samuel L. Jackson, Quentin explores an uncommon slave story with a western twist.

In the currently 165 minute long film, Jamie Foxx plays a slave named Django and the only known person to have seen the infamous Brittle Brothers. A German bounty hunter, played by Waltz, seeks out Django  (Foxx), promising to not only free him but help him rescue his wife Broomhilda (Washington) from the comically dubious Calvin Candie (Dicaprio), under the condition Django helps in the capture of the Brittle Brothers.

Tarantino, who is known for his radical vision and approach to directing and writing, has mentioned a few twists in the movie such as the plantation Broomhilda is held captive on is known for selling it’s women for prostitution, adding to the story arc and urgency of her rescue. It’s this and what we know he’s keeping in store for the film that we’re anxious to see just how far he takes things.

The film debuts Christmas day and will possibly get a re-release with an 180 minute extended version. Will you be shaking up your holiday plans to fit this in?
