Many know Pinterest for it’s innovative ways to provide tips to DIY almost anything and find cool ideas for weddings, meals and anything else your heart desires. Engineer, Makinde Adeagbo, of Pinterest, has taken the extra step when it comes to giving back by mentoring a young black student in the computer science program at Stanford University.
Adeagobo created a non-profit for black engineers so that they can be guided on their journey to becoming successful in a white dominated field. Diversity in tech is an issue and Adeagbo believes that mentoring young black engineers and teaching them how to set goals, achieve them and navigate in the field will change the face of the tech world in the future.
