New Movie “Twenty Feet From Stardom” Tells The Stories Of The Greatest Background Vocalists

By Posted on 0 1 m read

The most iconic voices have all had their personal chorale of strong (sometimes even stronger) voices that have ooh’d and aah’d them to greatness. Not often do we get to hear these stories that are often more vibrant and riddled with drama than that of the star. From the lofty hopes and aspirations that come with singing behind one of the greats, to the inner turmoil and conflict that comes with those dreams going unrealized, Twenty Feet From Stardom explores the careers and lives of some of the most important and unknown people in the history of music.

Directed by Morgan Neville and starring Darlene Love, Merry Clayton, Lisa Fischer, Táta Vega, Judith Hill and Claudia Lennear, this documentary gives the perspective of vocalists that have worked with stars from Mick Jagger and Stevie Wonder, to Ray Charles and Michael Jackson. After making an appearance at Sundance and garnering great reviews, Twenty Feet From Stardom is now in theaters nationwide and finally giving talented shadow-dwellers the recognition they deserve.
