‘My Name is Unique Just Like Me: A book for children with unisex names’ Encourages Youth Amid Teasing

By Posted on 0 1 m read

As society continues to modernize, names have evolved from traditional styles. Names more and more show no boundaries in regards to gender and while unisex names are becoming more popular, children may not understand and be inclined to tease children with gender bending monikers.

Melanie White, a “millenial momtrepreneur” saw the opportunity to encourage children with unisex names and empower them beyond bullying.’My Name is Unique Just Like Me: A book for children with unisex names’ written  by Melanie White and Andrew Trotter for children with unisesx names recognizes how uniquely named children may struggle with acceptance from their peers.

The book with a 5 star rating on Barnes and Noble reads 24 pages long and comes in paperback and digital format.  So what inspired the book: White and Trotter’s daughter, uniquely named AnnDrew will have this as a source of positivity throughout her youth.
