Since August 12, 2016, over 75,000 Baton Rouge residents were affected by the Louisiana floods. 40,000 homes were destroyed due to this intense flooding, displacing thousands of families. According to the Red Cross, this was one of the worst natural disasters in America since Hurricane Sandy in 2012. In efforts to raise money for these families who have suffered from this tragedy, Master P will be hosting a benefit concert and fundraiser. The concert will fall during the annual NBA All-Star Weekend on February 18, in Master P’s hometown of New Orleans, Louisiana.
“Together we will entertain and give fans a great show but the real mission is to help get families back into their homes. In Baton Rouge, there is still a lot of pollution in the air, water damages and mildew.” – Master P
We can not wait to see the star-studded lineup, Master P tells Vibe Magazine:
“I want all the athletes to come out, we are going to have all the top celebrities there from Usher to Lil Wayne,” Master P said. “When people look at the floods and a lot of victims, they are not back in their homes yet in Baton Rouge, and I feel like for All Star Weekend, even though this will be a fun event, It will be a way for everyone to do their part, so this concert will be great for our people and Baton Rouge.” – Master P
