Kenneth Braswell Pens Children’s Book To Help Explain ‘Black Lives Matter’

By Posted on 14 1 m read

Kenneth Braswell, Executive Director of Fathers Incorporated, is set to publish what’s expected to be an empowering children’s book to help explain the Black Lives Matter movement to you individuals.

Braswell’s new book is titled “Daddy, There’s a Noise Outside,” and is expected to launch at a book signing on Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18th) from 1pm – 3pm in Atlanta at The Center for Working Families. The book, however, is now available for presell at

As far as what motivated Kenneth to pen this children’s book, we have the sickening case of Freddie Gray and his son’s curiosity to thank. “The idea came when my 6-year-old son asked my wife why was I in Baltimore on the day that the indictments were issued on the six police in the Freddie Gray case,” Braswell says. His wife told their son to ask his father when he returned home, and wallah, that explanation has turned into his new venture.

This is the type of children’s books we need these days. Honest, and informative. Be on the lookout for the book on January 18th, or pre-order here.
