“Pimp” is a lesbian love drama that tells the story of a struggling female pimp named Wednesday (Keke Palmer). Born into the game, Wednesday is forced to hustle for a chance at a better life in efforts to take care of her prostitution mother and girlfriend Nikki.
In the movie, which is executively produced by Lee Daniels, Wednesday comes face to face with Kenny, another pimp, who is much more dangerous than she can imagine.

During the New York special screening, Crokos discusses what it was like meeting a real life pimp and how real survival is in the “pimp game.”
She also discusses the selection process and why Keke Palmer was the perfect individual to take on this role.
“What Keke did was take the scrip, and went and shot it— casted with her friends. I thought this was brilliant, what she did. She did the voice over, stars in it, and dresses as a boy.
I flew to LA, and when I sat with her, she was so full of life, so feminine. I thought oh my gosh. She comes in the room dressed as a boy, and she sat with me and we did every scene together. I knew Keke had something beyond her years, and she also had an understanding of the voice…”
