This past weekend was one to remember for Live Civil!
Our very own Karen Civil hosted her 6th annual Live Civil Brunch over the weekend at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills.
The annual brunch which celebrates unity among women was attended by singer/songwriter Sevyn Streeter, Keke Palmer, Justine Skye, Tami Roman, Elise Neal, India Love and more. Sponsored by Myx Moscato, Villa and Beats By Dre, guests enjoyed music by DJ Killa Kels & DJ Charmisa while enjoying a catered gourmet breakfast, bottomless mimosas and desserts.
During the brunch, Karen surprised entertainment reporter Nina Parker with special limited edition Beats By Dre headphones curated by singer Justine Skye. The gift was a token of Karen’s gratitude. Here’s what she said about Nina:
“I started this brunch six years ago when I moved to Los Angeles,” said Karen. “I didn’t really know Nina Parker that well, but she came to the brunch and she’s been coming every single year since then. Nina is a great friend, someone that I look up to and admire.”
After the heartfelt moment between Karen and Nina, all the ladies in attendance lifted one another up while partaking in an intimate champagne toast. And of course, our trendy group of girls couldn’t let the festivities end without an epic all-female mannequin challenge inspired by Nicki Minaj’s new “Black Barbie” record, the remix to “Black Beatles.”
If you missed out on this year’s event, don’t worry, we got recap photos and footage to help you re-live the moment. Enjoy it all below and thank you to everyone involved.
