By Posted on 0 1 m read

Janice Bryant Howroyd is the face of success. When she started her company that was dedicated to helping others find employment, Act1, she was also building a multi-billion dollar empire.

TODAY sat with the bright, female entrepreneur to learn about her 40 year journey to success. She admitted she never thought she would own the “largest woman minority-owned employment agency in the country.” Regardless of her expectations, Janice has been a stepping stone for today’s 9 million women owned businesses.

“Women still have a need for change…I heard a lot of ‘no’s’ growing up, but my parents didn’t allow ‘no’s.”

Now, as the established woman she is, she shares her 4 principles of success:

1. Make sure you’re prepared.

2. Understand what the goal is.

3. Understand that all of those around, particularly family, are part of that success.

4. Always find a moment of gratitude and be grateful along the journey.

Congratulations, Janice Bryant Howroyd! Watch the rest of her inspiring story above.
