Following the announcement that she would be joining the cast of the upcoming Harriet Tubman biopic, Janelle Monáe will also be lending her voice for Disney’s live-action reboot of the 1955 animated film, ‘Lady and the Tramp.’
The ‘Hidden Figures’ actress will be the voice of Peg, a friend of the main character, Lady. Lady will be played by Tessa Thompson and Justin Theroux will star as Tramp.
This Disney animated classic follows a pampered cocker spaniel named Lady whose comfortable life slips away once her owners have a baby. When, after some tense circumstances, Lady finds herself on the loose and out on the street, she is befriended and protected by the tough stray mutt Tramp. A romance begins to blossom between the two dogs, but their many differences, along with more drama at Lady’s household, threaten to keep them apart.
Other cast members include Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Benedict Wong, Ashley Jensen, and Yvette Nicole Brown.
