June 18th is swiftly approaching and so is the hype around J. Cole’s sophomore album Born Sinner. Dropping the same day as Kanye Wests Yeezus, Cole is up against some serious sales competition.
However, putting his best foot forward, J. has been campaigning heavily for the success of his album. With the release of BornSinner.com and the intimate stories told there, his most recent interview with Elliott Wilson of Rap Radar, and now, tonight he’s giving you a chance to hear his album firsthand.
Yesterday on DreamVillain.net, J. Cole’s team released longitude and latitude coordinates in 8 US cities and London where fans can go equipped with fully charged cell phones and their pre-downloaded LISNR apps and experience the album in an unprecedented new way. While we’re not entirely sure how this is all going to play out, we love the innovations that artists like J. Cole and Kanye are making to get their fans involved and invested in their new music.
