Isabel Marant Thinks Replicas Wedge Sneakers are “Vulgar”

By Posted on 6 1 m read

Isabel Marant, the designer of Beyonce’s sneaker in the Love on Top Video, is not pleased with the current mass reproduction of her wedge sneaker design.  Since becoming popular and being seen fashionistas like Alicia Keys, Emily B, and Beyonce, amongst others, many shoe brands have created their own version of the Isabel Marant wedge sneaker. The Isbael Marant sneakers can run consumers from $600-$700, which the average consumer may not be able to afford. The designer was quoted saying  “Everybody who has the wrong one looks quite bitchy, very vulgar, when mine are not at all.”

What are your thoughts? Should companies like Nike and Reebok not produce affordable versions  of the  wedge sneaker or Ms. Marant should understand that remakes comes with the business?
