In just two days, all of the single people will be envious of the lovebirds as the world celebrates Valentine’s Day. For those who are still dealing with their ex’s, or more importantly the items their ex left behind, Goodwill has the solution for you — donate it.
Starting the day after Valentine’s Day (February 15), Goodwill will bring back their annual Donate Your Ex’s Stuff campaign, where folks can begin dropping off unwanted items to Goodwill stores across the nation.
This campaign is the ole, “kill 2 birds with 1 stone” mechanism, where people are getting rid of their ex’s items, aka bad memories, and at the same time, giving someone in need something new. Brilliant idea. Here’s what Goodwill Manasota Foundation VP Veronica Brandon Miller said in a press release:
“When someone donates to Goodwill, they aren’t just cleansing the hurt of a failed relationship – these [items] will be sold in Goodwill’s retail stores, and support our programs to help those with barriers to employment to receive training and mentorship, and find jobs.”
This year, however, the only locations officially participating are Sarasota, Florida, and Southern Nevada. For those not in the area who still want to participate, visit GiveBackBox.com to learn more.[Source]
