Gift giving holidays have always been a breeze for me. There’s a sense of joy that I find when shopping for the people I love and seeing their reaction when I present them with their gift is priceless. I’ve always considered myself a great gift giver, so you can imagine my frustration of the last few years struggling to come up with the perfect gift ideas. And with Mother’s Day roughly two weeks away (May 12), there’s not a lot of time to decide on a gift for my favorite girl. After all, there’s is only but so many handbags and bottles of J’Adore perfume that I can buy, right?
I would imagine that since you’re reading this post, you’re probably looking for Mother’s Day gift ideas as well. I can tell you that while it wasn’t easy, the search was well worth it. There’s no sense in both us being lost, so I took the initiative to put together a helpful gift guide of the perfect Mother’s Day gift ideas for both your mom and mine!
1. Everyday 6 Speed 2.5 Qt. Stand Mixer – $39.99 at Wayfair
If your mom loves to bake, she will love this Everyday 6 Speed 2.5 Qt. Stand Mixer from Wayfair. It’s lightweight, easy to use, and guess what — I own one. This appliance is a great alternative for the KitchenAid mixers that would normally cost you hundreds of dollars. It’s also easy to store away.
2. Michelle Obama’s ‘Becoming’ Memoir – $13.86 at Amazon
On the fast track to becoming the best-selling memoir in history is former First Lady Michelle Obama’s memoir, ‘Becoming.’ With 10 million copies sold since its November 2018 release, I would say that there has to be something in this book worth gold. And if your mom loves to read, this would be a great addition to her book collection.
3. 12lb Weighted Blanket – $69.99 at Target
Okay, I’m late. I’d never heard of a weighted blanket until this past Christmas when my sister asked for one. It wasn’t until I tried hers that I entertained the thought of getting one for myself because of how amazing it felt. The pressure of a weighted blanket aids in relieving anxiety, insomnia and more — helping you get a restful night’s sleep and a clear head. My mom described the feeling of a weighted blanket as “one big hug.” Sure, it’s a bit on the pricer side, but what mom doesn’t want a good night’s rest?
4. Plush Terry-Cloth Robe – $59.00 at Nordstrom
Robes are one of the most underappreciated gifts one could give. It’s one of those things that you didn’t realize you needed until you have it. I guarantee you that your mom will love it.
5. Classic Collection 1/2 CT. T.W. Genuine White Diamond 10K White Gold 3.9mm Stud Earrings – $299.99 at JCPenney
As part of their Mother’s Day sale on fine jewelry, you can purchase these white diamond stud earrings for a sale price of $299.99 (regular price of $899.98) from JCPenney by using their coupon code FORYOU8 at checkout. Fun fact about me is that I used to work in JCPenney’s fine jewelry department, so I totally feel like a salesperson right now, but it’s only because I want you to be able to take advantage of their Mother’s Day sale. And with it being just around the corner, I’m not sure how much longer the sale will go on, so you may want to check it out soon if you’re considering this item as an option.
6. Chanel Chance Eau Tendre Eau De Parfum – $105.00-$135.00
Okay, so I know I said that I didn’t really want to give perfume as a gift this year, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t. I mean, perfume is still an awesome Mother’s Day gift and a radiant, feminine scent is always appreciated. Of course, perfumes are based on one’s personal preference, so this is a gift that may take a little extra effort in selecting.
