First Lady Michelle Obama is set for an extravagant and important trip overseas from June 15-21 where she will travel to London for the Let Girls Learn initiative, Milan for the Let’s Move! initiative, and Vicenza for the Joining Forces initiative. Mrs. Obama will be accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Marian Robinson and her two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
After recently visiting Japan and Cambodia as part of the Let Girls Learn initiative, the First Lady is set to hit London with the same focus. She plans to meet with the students there and discuss how the UK and the U.S. are working together to expand access to girls education all around the world. Something that’s always been important to her.
Following her stay in London, Mrs. Obama will lead a Presidential Delegation to the Milan Expo 2015 as part of the Let’s Move! initiative. Maintaining their strong commitment to a healthier nation, the Presidential Delegation will tour the USA Pavilion, “American Food 2.0: United to Feed the Planet,” and participate in activities to support healthier families and healthier communities. We all know the Michelle loves her fitness.
Last but not least, as part of the Joining Forces initiative, the First Lady will end her overseas trip with by visiting members of our military and their families, who are stationed in Vicenza, Italy. Mrs. Obama and the crew will also visit several cultural sites in Venice before returning back home, making for an event-filled trip.
As you can see, Mrs. Obama is utilizing her last year as the First Lady in a powerful and helpful way.
