The FDA makes a big step in the health world today by unveiling brand new nutrition facts with hopes to better display important health information for families.
Some of the changes include the usage of big bold letters for “Calories” and “Servings,” things like Vitamin D, Calcium, Iron and Potassium now being clearly marked, updated daily values, new added sugars, and more. See a display below:
“Our guiding principle here is very simple: that you as a parent and a consumer should be able to walk into your local grocery store, pick up an item off the shelf, and be able to tell whether it’s good for your family,” said First Lady Michelle Obama. “So this is a big deal, and it’s going to make a big difference for families all across this country.”
