Chris Rock is preparing for his next directorial presentation with a Universal film titled Co-Parenting. The Will Packer-produced project will star Night School actor and comedian Kevin Hart. It is also based on an original idea by Rock and Hart.
According to Deadline, the film will revolve around a stay at home dad who raises the kids while his star CEO wife serves as the breadwinner. The man finds himself in emotional and public turmoil when his wife kicks him to the curb, and they engage in a bitter divorce and custody battle. There is no word yet on who will star alongside Kevin Hart in this Universal comedy.
“The comedy train continues people… Me and @ChrisRock have been in the kitchen and came up with something that we think you guys will love and enjoy,” Kevin says via Instagram. “Major shoutout to my partners @UniversalPictures and @WillPowerPacker and of course my amazing team at Hartbeat Productions… We will continue to work hard and deliver the world quality material!“
The Co-Parenting script is being written by actress and writer Yamara Taylor (black-ish). Will Packer (Girls Trip, Ride Along 3, and Night School) is set to produce the film through his Will Packer Productions company with James Lopez. Kevin Hart’s Hartbeat Productions and Chris Rock’s Chris Rock Enterprises will also work alongside Packer.
A release date has not been announced for this project.
