Black History Month Appreciation (Day 9): The Curry’s

By Posted on 0 2 m read

We’re back with day 9 of our #LiveCivilBHM series, where each day of this year’s Black History Month, we pay homage to a black man or woman (or family) who we admire. Today, we put the spotlight on an amazing family we’ve all grown to love — The Curry’s.

Golden State Warriors shooting guard Steph Curry is deemed one of the best, if not the best, basketball player currently playing in the NBA. His humble attitude on and off the court and his happy-go-lucky mentality has catapulted Steph from a Davidson University prospect — who may or may not make it to the big leagues — into an NBA champion, an MVP, and is now being called the best shooter in the history of the game by many.

What’s there not to like about Steph?

His wife Ayesha and their adorable daughter Riley stole our hearts during the 2015 NBA Playoffs run, when Riley joined Steph during a post-game press conference. Wanting to spend time with her very busy dad, Riley made her presence known by singing Big Sean’s “Blessings” into the mic, telling her dad to quiet down while he was talking and a slew of other hilarious moments we sadly left behind in 2015.

Then, soon after the Warriors won the NBA championship, Steph and Ayesha welcomed their 2nd baby girl into the world, Ryan.

As you can see in the photo above, Riley is already assuming her role as big sister in a great way.

With Steph Curry (and the Warriors) on pace to make history this NBA season, we can safely say it’s his family’s support that keeps him going day in and day out. As Kevin Durant told his mother during his 2014 MVP acceptance speech: Steph, Ayesha, Riley & Ryan — you guys are the real MVPs.
