Black History Month Appreciation (Day 3): The Obamas

By Posted on 0 2 m read

These last eight years have been very historic. Many of us can proudly proclaim that we lived through the period that will forever be known as The Obama Era. In lieu of our Black History Month celebration we would be remiss if we did not acknowledge President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, and their beautiful daughters Sasha and Malia.

History books will know Barack Obama as the first African American to serve as President of the United States of America. While naysayers questioned his ability to accomplish the task at hand he proved them wrong for eight years in a row. With his wife and two beautiful daughters by his side, President Obama accomplished projects that were seemingly impossible. The best part of it all, he did it with such style and grace. Does the man break a sweat?

Professionally, President Obama has served as an inspiration to black boys and girls that may have questioned their abilities because of their skin color. He serves as living proof and tangible evidence that hard work and dedication will go a very long way. If he can do it, so can you. Additionally, the right support system will propel you in the direction that will certainly reap major rewards and great benefits.

Barack Obama and Michelle Obama are literally #goals. Individually they are successful in their own rights but together they are a force to be reckoned with. These two are the epitome of black love and in an era that often deems it as nonexistent, this makes us love them even more. Even their daughters are absolutely gorgeous. They’ve grown up right before our very eyes — it’s almost hard to believe that Sasha is 14 and Malia is now 17. Feel old yet?

Despite the challenges that were placed upon him the second he stepped foot into the Oval office, President Obama has done his job and he has done it well. He is to be acknowledged for his commitment to creating a better nation for us all.

May the Obama Era live on.

Happy Black History Month!
