Flint, MI has been going through a dramatic water crisis that has caught the attention of a lot of celebrities. One being Big Sean.
Sean and his Detroit based non-profit, Sean Anderson Foundation, announced that they will be joining CrowdRise in efforts to help the victims. #HEALFLINTKIDS is their campaign to help the families with children who have been harmed by the toxic water contamination.
Besides the time he is putting into the cause, Big Sean also handed over $10,000 to the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan’s Flint Child Health & Development Fund. SAF is making sure to bring awareness and most importantly donations, to fund the organization.
Donations began at noon today and will end April 30th. Charitable donors of a tax deductible $10 or more will get a chance to win tickets to Big Sean’s 2016 concert plus a photo-op and meet and greet.
The rapper said in a statement:
“I am devastated by the water crisis that has put the entire city of Flint in a state of emergency. In recognizing the great work that the Community Foundation of Greater Flint Michigan has been doing, it is my hope we can help by raising the money needed to ensure that the children who have been hit the hardest receive the care that they need today and well into the future.”
