Barbara Walters: The End Of An Era

By Posted on 0 1 m read

Television icon and heavy hitter Barbara Walters is expected to make the announcement today that this will be her final year as a television journalist.

“I am very happy with my decision and look forward to a wonderful and special year ahead both on ‘The View’ and with ABC News,” said Walters. At 83 years old, Barbara has had an illustrious career that has spanned more than 50 years. Having interviewed every president and first lady since Richard and Pat Nixon, Walters’ interviews have also included Lucille Ball, Larry King, Katherine Hepburn, Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber and Michael Jackson. Just to name a few. While she’s been with ABC since 1974, few people know that she actually began her television career as a reporter, panelist and writer on NBC’s Today Show. She’s also famously know for the two decades she spent co-hosting 20/20 and her original year-end review The 10 Most Fascinating People.

Barbara is also the driving force behind the Award-Winning day-time talk show The View, which she has said she will remain a producer of but will no longer be a correspondent. No word has been said as to what exactly Mrs. Walters plans on doing with her new and copious amounts of free time, however I’m certain she won’t stray to far from television in some capacity. Cheers to you Barbara and to check out this past years episode of 10 Most Fascinating People featuring Seth McFarlene, Honey Boo Boo and Olympic Gold Medalist .Gabby Douglas hit this link
