While our former President and First Lady are no longer changing the world through politics, Mr. and Mrs. Obama haven’t slowed down one bit.
Barack and Michelle Obama have signed a whopping $60 million combined book deal with successful publishing company Penguin Random House. This deal is said to be one of the most lucrative presidential deals in history.
In addition to their major deal, the Obama’s also announce that they will donate 1 million children’s book to the non-profit group First Book, who provides books to children in need. On top of that, a significant portion of their $60 million deal will go to charity as well.
Here’s what Penguin Random House CEO Markus Dohle said about the partnership:
“We are absolutely thrilled to continue our publishing partnership with President and Mrs. Obama,” Penguin Random House CEO Markus Dohle said in a statement announcing the deal. “With their words and their leadership, they changed the world, and every day, with the books we publish at Penguin Random House, we strive to do the same.”
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Obama for an amazing achievement, and a well-deserved one at that.
