9-Year-Old Gianna Graham Collects Thousands of Dolls For Thousands of Girls

“Every doll deserves a doll” – Gianna Graham

These are the words of a 9-year-old girl from Norfolk, Virginia who is filled with compassion and care for others.

Like many other children Gianna Graham received a Barbie doll house and Barbies for Christmas last year. While putting her doll house together she went to her mom and said, “Mom, I want to give Barbie’s to little girls who don’t have homes and girls that are living in foster homes, because I want them to know that they are pretty. I also want to write them letters to encourage and inspire them.”

This conversation was the start of the organization,  “Dolls for Dolls”  founded by Gianna Graham herself in 2016. Gianna believes that a Barbie can be a friend to the young girls when they feel that they have no one to talk to about the situations they face living in shelters and foster homes. She has made it her mission to provide her peers who may not be as fortunate as her but still deserve to feel loved with barbie dolls, simply because every doll deserves a doll.

Gianna started working towards her mission by donating dolls within the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, but to her surprise, her vision has grown to donate to little girls all around the world! Gianna has even received support from the United States Navy, who collected Barbie’s on her behalf for her to distribute.

Gianna has even received support from the United States Navy, who collected Barbie’s on her behalf for her to distribute. She has received over 2000 dolls, wrapping paper, ribbon, tape and scissors donated from all over the world and personally delivers the dolls to shelters with a handwritten note of encouragement.

“Knowing 2.5 million kids were homeless at some point last year gives us motivation and has helped us to understand there is a huge demand for our purpose and mission . What started as a kind gesture has become a major mission to ensure every little girl in a homeless shelter and foster care receive a Barbie.” – Whitley Graham (Gianna’s mother)

Gianna is not stopping here and wants to invite everyone to support her mission. For further information on how you can donate or spread the word contact:
